Volleyball Sweeps Pair of Road Matches
SOUTH DAYTONA, FL (FPCSports.com) – Flagler Palm Coast girls volleyball (8-1) continued its strong start to the season with a pair of straight-set road victories over Burns Sci-Tech and Warner Christian Academy.
The Bulldogs first traveled to Oak Hill on Thursday, September 3, and defeated Burns Sci-Tech, 3-0. FPC produced 39 kills, 39 assists, 58 digs and 11 service aces in the victory. Senior Grace Taylor led the Bulldogs with 14 kills, 21 assists and a team-high 16 digs. Taylor also added two service aces and a block. Senior Peyton Smith delivered 13 kills and 11 digs, while junior Elise Marks finished with five kills and no attacking errors.
Senior Kaitlyn Ebding helped anchor the defense with 10 digs while also recording four aces. Sophomore Brie Sproul added 12 digs, and sophomore Taylor Hamilton distributed 14 assists and collected four digs. Junior Vickie Fraidin contributed four kills and a block.
FPC returned to the road on Wednesday, September 9, and earned another 3-0 sweep, this time over Warner Christian Academy in South Daytona. Taylor once again turned in a strong all-around performance, leading the Bulldogs with eight kills and 14 assists while adding nine digs and six aces. Ebding and Smith each recorded six kills, with Ebding hitting .417 and finishing with six digs.
Kylee Ouellette provided a major spark from the service line, recording four aces without a service error. Smith added three aces, while Hamilton finished with two aces, nine assists and seven digs.
Sproul led the defensive effort against Warner Christian with 16 digs as the Bulldogs totaled 46 for the match. FPC also finished with 29 kills, 29 assists and 16 service aces while committing only three service errors.
The back-to-back sweeps showcased the Bulldogs’ balance, with contributions throughout the lineup and strong performances in serving, defense and ball distribution. The Bulldogs return home to the Anderson Athletic Center on Thursday September 10th to take on the Pine Ridge Panthers at 6:00 & 7:00pm.
