NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. (FPCSports.com) — Flagler Palm Coast’s boys swimming team used victories in the freestyle events and relays to defeat the host Cudas 90-80 on Sept. 2. The Bulldog girls also produced several standout performances, winning six events despite falling 100-64.

Caleb Gordon captured the boys’ 100-yard freestyle in 57.28 seconds and added a runner-up finish in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.29. Noah Roznos won the 100 butterfly in 58.60 and placed fourth in the 200 individual medley at 2:24.49. Alexander Rudik won the 200 freestyle in 1:56.91 and later placed second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:12.00. Axel Dragstedt finished second in the 500 freestyle in 5:33.41 and took third in the 200 freestyle at 2:05.82.

FPC opened the meet by winning the boys’ 200 medley relay in 1:49.74. The Bulldogs closed the competition with another victory, taking the 400 freestyle relay in 3:54.97. The Bulldogs also collected important depth points. Jordan Whitaker placed third in the 100 backstroke and fourth in the 500 freestyle. Roman Lipkovich competed in the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke, while Esias Roznos placed in both the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke. Maddox Tietje contributed in the 200 freestyle and relay events.

In the girls meet, Ella Yorgey delivered two individual victories. She won the 100 butterfly in 1:07.03 and returned later to take the 100 backstroke in 1:06.31. Jade Hreib won the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:04.52 and placed second in the 50 freestyle at 29.44. Stella Guymon added a victory in the 100 breaststroke, touching in 1:13.35, after finishing second in the 200 individual medley in 2:28.83. Rhiley Albin placed second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:26.22 and also earned a runner-up finish in the 100 freestyle. Madelyn O’Neill competed in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke, while Ariella Riendeau raced in the 50 freestyle.

FPC’s girls opened the meet by winning the 200 medley relay in 2:02.36. They also ended the meet on a high note, capturing the 400 freestyle relay in 4:43.11. Although the girls were unable to overcome the Cudas’ depth, FPC received victories from Yorgey, Hreib, Guymon and both relay teams.
