Bulldog Boys Place Second at Florida Horse Park Invitational


OCALA, Fla. (FPCSports.com) — The Flagler Palm Coast cross country teams competed against a deep field of programs from across the state at the 13th Annual Florida Horse Park Invitational on Saturday, September 5, at the Florida Horse Park in Ocala.

The Bulldog boys delivered one of the strongest team performances of the meet, finishing second among 66 teams in the varsity invitational race. FPC’s five scoring runners combined for 231 points and a total time of 1:23:07, just six seconds ahead of third-place Bolles. Belen Jesuit Prep won the boys team championship with 63 points. Flagler Palm Coast finished second, while Bolles placed third with 237 points, Gulliver Prep took fourth with 282 and Chiles rounded out the top five with 284.

Sophomore Douglas Seth led the Bulldogs with an outstanding fourth-place finish. Seth completed the 5K course in 15:52.7, averaging 5:06.6 per mile. Fellow sophomore Dylan Ciardi gave FPC a second top-15 finisher, crossing the line in 16:12.3 to place 15th overall. Seniors Enzo McGovern and junior Mateo Almeida finished nearly side-by-side. McGovern placed 57th in 16:51.0, while Almeida followed in 58th with a time of 16:51.2.

Junior Owen Stackpole completed the Bulldogs’ scoring five, placing 104th overall in 17:20.5. Evan Johnson finished in 18:00.4, Brayden Murray crossed the line in 18:39.6 and Ethan Green completed the course in 18:59.2. Ricardo Garcia added a time of 20:21.5.

FPC Girls Finish 21st

The Flagler Palm Coast girls placed 21st among 49 teams with 562 points. The Bulldogs’ five scoring runners combined for a total time of 1:48:50 and an average time of 21:46.

Senior Anna Grigoruk paced FPC with a top-30 performance, placing 29th overall in 19:54.3. Grigoruk averaged 6:24.4 per mile. Freshman Avery Wisniewski was the Bulldogs’ second finisher, placing 58th with a time of 20:41.3. Sophomore Everly Mucciolo followed with a 96th-place finish in 21:26.5. Lauren Rutledge crossed the line in 23:09.8, and Summer McKinney completed FPC’s scoring five in 23:38.5. Freshman Ayana Henry finished in 25:17.8, while sophomore Seraphina Morris recorded a time of 27:18.1.

The Bulldogs left Ocala with another strong early-season showing, highlighted by the boys’ runner-up finish and top-15 performances from Seth and Ciardi.
