Bulldogs Blank Riverside 23-0


PALM COAST, Fla. (FPCSports.com) —

Flagler Palm Coast delivered a gritty, physical performance on both sides of the football Friday night, shutting out the Riverside Generals 23-0 inside Sal Campanella Stadium on August 28.

The Bulldogs controlled the game on the ground, rushing for 166 yards and three touchdowns while the FPC defense kept the Generals off the scoreboard for all four quarters.

Ehimen Ajede led the Bulldogs’ rushing attack with 97 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries. The senior averaged 5.1 yards per attempt and broke a game-long 22-yard run. He also added a 12-yard reception to finish with a team-high 109 all-purpose yards. Nei’cco Murphy contributed 60 yards on 15 carries, while Reagan Melland added the Bulldogs’ third rushing touchdown. Quarterback Reid Pritt completed 10 of 19 passes for 114 yards. Logan Jacobelli was his leading target, catching six passes for 69 yards, including a game-long 29-yard reception. Stephan Bisulca added a 17-yard catch, Trace Paffrath recorded a 12-yard reception and Brian Gunter added a four-yard reception.

Garrett Tucker handled the Bulldogs’ kicking duties, converting both extra-point attempts and adding a 52 yard field goal at the end of the half, which put him in the record books as the longest field goal in school history. Tucker also averaged 33 yards on three punts and recorded a touchback on one of his four kickoffs.

While the offense steadily built the lead, the FPC defense delivered the defining performance of the night. The Bulldogs combined for 78 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss and four sacks while forcing a turnover, breaking up four passes and blocking a field-goal attempt attempt.

Josiah Hathaway led the Bulldogs with nine total tackles, including a half tackle for loss, and blocked a field goal.

Mathias Parker, Brian Veal and Khayden Steward each finished with eight tackles. Veal was a constant presence in the Riverside backfield, recording a team-high four tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks for 21 yards lost. Parker added 2.5 tackles for loss.  Murphy contributed seven tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, a pass breakup and a forced fumble. Jacob Harnish also recorded seven tackles and one tackle for loss. Cal Zwirn finished with six tackles and one tackle for loss, while Shawn Smith and Caleb Shamblin each collected four tackles. Lucas Siharaj added two pass breakups.
