New ECG Requirements
Electrocardiograms (ECG’s) help ensure the safety and well-being of our students. Flagler Schools is requiring all high school students wanting to participate in athletics, JROTC, Marching Band, or Color Guard to complete a one-time electrocardiogram (ECG) prior to participation. An ECG is a medical test that records the electrical activity of the heart over a period of time. The test results provide information about the heart’s rhythm, the size and position of the heart chambers, and any potential abnormalities in the heart’s electrical system.
Flagler Schools is excited to partner with AdventHealth and Who We Play For to offer free ECG screenings for our students.
Students will only need to submit a cleared ECG screening one time in their four year high school career. If the ECG was completed by ‘Who We Play For‘ please submit the clearance email you received from the company along with the top portion of the Flagler Schools ECG Form signed by the parent (attached). If your ECG was completed by an outside vendor, the form must be signed by both the doctor that completed the screening as well as the parent. If you have any questions or need any assistance please do not hesitate to reach out to the Bulldog athletic office at (386) 437-7540 ext: 3122.
