The Flagler Palm Coast volleyball team improved to 6-1 on the season with a 3-1 road victory over the Taylor Wildcats on Wednesday, September 2. The opening set was a back-and-forth battle, with the Bulldogs making the key plays late to earn a 28-26 victory. FPC carried that momentum into the second set and delivered its most dominant performance of the night, winning 25-11. Taylor responded with a 25-22 victory in the third set, but the Bulldogs regrouped and closed out the match with a 25-19 win in the fourth.

Senior Grace Taylor led the FPC attack with a match-high 15 kills on 51 attempts. Senior Peyton Smith added seven kills, while junior Elsie Marks recorded six. Junior Victoria Fraidin contributed four kills, junior Anastin Dorr added two, and senior Kaitlyn Ebding and sophomore Brooke Sproul each finished with one. As a team, the Bulldogs totaled 36 kills during the four-set victory.

Fraidin also led FPC’s defensive effort at the net with four solo blocks. Junior Kylee Ouellette added another block, giving the Bulldogs five total blocks in the match. FPC was effective from the service line, putting 91 of its 95 serves in play for a 95.8 percent serving rate. The Bulldogs recorded seven aces, led by Sproul with four. Sophomore Taylor Hamilton added one ace. Sproul was a perfect 21-for-21 serving, Hamilton finished 19-for-19, Smith went 12-for-12, Dorr was 8-for-8 and senior Aidamarys Bailey-Ortiz finished 3-for-3. Taylor successfully delivered 18 of her 20 serves, while Ebding was 10-for-11.

Hamilton led the Bulldogs with nine assists, while Fraidin, Sproul, Smith and sophomore J. Newman each recorded one. Ebding led the listed defensive statistics with eight digs and handled a team-high 29 serve-receive opportunities. Marks added two digs and nine serve receptions.

With the four-set road victory, the Bulldogs continued their strong start and moved to 6-1 overall.
