Girls Soccer Captures Conference Crown
January 9th, 2026 | PALM COAST, FL – Flagler Palm Coast’s girls soccer team added another trophy to its case Friday night, capturing the Five Star Conference championship with a 2-0 win over New Smyrna Beach. The title marks the Bulldogs’ first conference crown since 2018.
Midfielder Skyler Strickland broke the scoreless tie late in the first half, blasting a shot from the top of the penalty area in the 37th minute. The Bulldogs doubled their lead in the 53rd minute when forward Katherine Ouellette finished a through ball into the bottom-right corner to give top-seeded FPC breathing room.
New Smyrna Beach, the defending Five Star Conference champion, was unable to find an equalizer. Bulldog goalkeeper Natalie Neal turned away an early opportunity from Zoe Kosmas in the 25th minute, and a Barracudas goal in the 50th minute was wiped out by an offside call shortly before Ouellette’s strike. “I think our defenders especially, they all played well,” Coach Peter Hald said. “Taci Cook, I played her in a position she really hasn’t played before, outside left back, and she had the game of her life, as far as with me … And then Eva Sites is just absolutely dynamite at center back. And they have good players, they have fast players, but she is just as fast as all of them, and she tracks the ball well, she’s smart. And of course, I have Natalie.”
The Bulldogs’ defensive dominance continued throughout the tournament. FPC outscored its opponents 14-0, opening with an 8-0 mercy-rule win over Pine Ridge before shutting out Spruce Creek 4-0 in the semifinals. Friday’s victory completed a three-match stretch without allowing a goal.
With the win, Flagler Palm Coast extended its unbeaten streak to 17 matches this season, improving to 13-0-4. Flagler Palm Coast will look to finish the regular season unbeaten with a home match against Providence School on Tuesday, followed by a road contest against county rival Matanzas on Thursday.
