Late Rally Lifts FPC Softball Past Taylor
February 20th, 2026 | PALM COAST, FL – FPC Softball battled through a back-and-forth contest Friday night, earning a 6–4 victory over Taylor High School on a perfect Friday evening inside Bulldog Park.
Taylor struck first in the top of the third inning, capitalizing on a single to center and a run-scoring groundout to take a 2–0 lead. The Bulldogs answered immediately in the bottom half of the inning. An error by Taylor and an RBI single from Ava Zublionis helped Flagler Palm Coast even the score at two.
FPC moved in front in the fifth inning. Zublionis delivered again with a single to center, and another Taylor miscue allowed the Bulldogs to extend their advantage to 4–2.
Taylor responded in the sixth, using a Bulldog error to knot the game at four and set up a tense finish.
Flagler Palm Coast regained control in the bottom of the sixth. A single down the left-field line helped produce the go-ahead run, and another Taylor error brought home an insurance run to give the Bulldogs a 6–4 lead they would not relinquish.
Kyndall Cercy earned the complete-game win on the mound for the Bulldogs, scattering 10 hits and allowing four runs (two earned) across seven innings while working through six walks. Gina Hough took the loss for Taylor despite an impressive 12-strikeout performance over six innings.
Offensively, Zublionis anchored the middle of the lineup, finishing 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Zublionis and Alexia Taylor each recorded two hits for the Bulldogs, who also turned two key double plays in the field.
Flagler Palm Coast will look to carry the momentum into its next matchup when the Bulldogs travel to New Smyrna Beach on Thursday to face New Smyrna Beach High School.
