FPC Captures Conference Title
New Smyrna Beach, FL – (FPCSports.com) The Flagler Palm Coast (FPC) Bulldogs delivered a powerful statement at the Five Star Conference Cross Country Championship, with the boys’ team claiming the conference title and the girls’ team securing a strong third-place finish, narrowly missing the top spot. The meet, held in cloudy, 76-degree conditions at New Smyrna Beach, showcased the depth and talent of the FPC program.
The FPC boys’ team executed a dominant strategy to win the team scoring title with a low score of 44 points, outpacing second-place New Smyrna Beach (74) and third-place DeLand (85). The team’s victory was anchored by an exceptional 1-2 punch and a tight spread among the scoring runners.
Freshman Douglas Seth of FPC took home the individual gold, crossing the finish line first with a blistering time of 16:43.7. Close behind was New Smyrna Beach’s Maddox Kokin (17:02.0) and Sam McDuffie (17:03.3).
Crucially for FPC, sophomore Mateo Almeida followed quickly, securing 7th place with a time of 17:45.1. The Bulldogs’ winning effort was solidified by the pack of Owen Stackpole (9th, 17:53.8), Brayden Murray (13th, 18:25.9), and Evan Johnson (14th, 18:33.0), whose combined average time of 17:53 showcased remarkable consistency.
