Bulldogs Edge Mainland 55–53 in Home Thriller

FLAGLER PALM COAST — The Flagler Palm Coast girls basketball team pulled out an exciting 55–53 victory over Mainland on Thursday, January 15, in a tightly contested matchup inside the Anderson Athletic Center.

Senior Ava Works led the Bulldogs with a standout performance, scoring 21 points while adding five rebounds and four assists. Works delivered in key moments as FPC battled throughout the night in a game that remained close from start to finish.  Freshman Stephanie Turner continued her strong season with 18 points and four assists, providing an offensive spark and steady ball handling against the Buccaneers’ pressure defense. Lexi Brown, a junior, was dominant on the boards, finishing with 10 points and 11 rebounds to record a double-double and anchor the Bulldogs in the paint.  FPC executed defensively in the final minutes and came up with timely stops late to secure the two-point home victory.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Saturday, January 17, when they host the Flagler MLK Classic inside the Anderson Athletic Center. FPC will take on the Spruce Creek Hawks with tipoff scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
