Bulldogs Compete Among Florida’s Best at the Louie Bing Invitational


MIAMI, FL – The Flagler Palm Coast track and field teams traveled south to Miami to compete in one of the state’s premier early-season meets, the Louie Bing Invitational, held February 13–14 at Traz Powell Stadium. Facing elite competition from across Florida, the Bulldogs delivered a strong weekend highlighted by event wins, podium finishes, and multiple scoring performances.

Marcelus Headlines Girls with Win and Multi-Event Success

Senior Karina Marcelus turned in the top performance of the weekend for the girls squad, capturing the triple jump title with a winning leap of 11.79 meters while also finishing 4th in the 100-meter hurdles (15.16) to score valuable team points.

The distance crew also impressed. Senior Arianna Slaughter placed 5th in the invitational 1600 meters (5:30.31), while junior Audrey Bowman added a solid finish in the same event. Freshman Everly Mucciolo posted a strong effort in the 1600 consolation race.

In the 800 meters, junior Anna Grigoruk finished 8th in the finals (2:26.22) after advancing through prelims, and the Bulldogs’ 4×800 relay team of Jayden Wright, Slaughter, Grigoruk, and Bowman placed 4th overall, continuing a strong tradition for FPC distance relays.

In the field events, junior Grace Taylor placed 4th in the javelin (28.76m) to add more points for the Bulldogs.

Boys Earn Podium Finishes and Relay Points

On the boys side, senior Ladarius Simmons delivered a standout throw, finishing 2nd in the javelin (53.52m) to lead the team’s scoring performances.

Sprinter Jordan Haymon powered to a 3rd-place finish in the 200 meters (21.93) and teamed with Logan Jacobelli, Michael Najpaver, and William Roberts to help the Bulldogs’ 4×400 relay place 5th in the finals.

Distance standout Douglas Seth placed 7th in the invitational 1600 meters (4:35.85), while sophomore Mateo Almeida finished 3rd in the consolation 1600, highlighting depth in the Bulldogs’ distance group.

The throws unit added steady performances from Jacob Harnisch and Ethan Ruiz in the discus, while Kenneth Robinson posted a solid mark in the triple jump.

Building Momentum Early in the Season

Competing against some of the strongest programs in the state, the Bulldogs proved they can contend at a high level across sprints, distance, relays, and field events. With multiple athletes already posting scoring marks in a major invitational, the meet provided valuable experience and momentum as the season progresses.
