Bulldogs Bring Home Two State Titles at FHSAA Track Championships
May 9th, 2026 – JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Flagler Palm Coast delivered a memorable performance Saturday at the 2026 FHSAA Class 4A State Track & Field Championships at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida, highlighted by two state championships and several podium finishes against the best competition in Florida.
The Bulldogs’ most dramatic moment came in the final race of the evening, when the boys 4×400-meter relay team of Logan Jacobelli, Will Roberts, Mike Najpaver, and Jordan Haymon captured the Class 4A state championship in thrilling fashion. FPC crossed the finish line in 3:14.35, edging the runner-up team by an incredible .008 seconds in a photo finish that brought the crowd to its feet.
The victory capped the meet in unforgettable style for the Bulldogs and secured one of the most exciting finishes of the entire state championship weekend.
Senior standout Karina Marcelus also shined on the state’s biggest stage, winning the Class 4A state championship in the girls triple jump with a leap of 12.41 meters (40 feet, 8¾ inches). Marcelus added another medal later in the meet by finishing runner-up in the girls 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.69 seconds, cementing herself as one of the premier athletes in the state. 
Jordan Haymon added another podium finish for the Bulldogs in the boys 400-meter dash, earning second place with a time of 47.82 seconds.
The Bulldogs also received strong performances in the field events from senior Ladarius Simmons, who placed fourth in the boys javelin with a throw of 54.18 meters (177 feet, 9 inches), while Jack Wronowski finished ninth at 51.03 meters (167 feet, 5 inches).
Logan Jacobelli contributed points in two individual sprint events, placing fifth in the boys 200-meter dash in 21.27 seconds and seventh in the boys 100-meter dash with a time of 10.53 seconds.
On the girls side, Arianna Slaughter competed in both distance events, placing 14th in the 800-meter run (2:18.14) and 14th in the 1600-meter run (5:06.94). Grace Taylor finished 10th in the girls javelin with a throw of 32.61 meters (107 feet), while Danteria Rankin placed 18th in the girls shot put at 9.74 meters (31 feet, 11½ inches).
Flagler Palm Coast also qualified relay teams in both the boys and girls 4×800-meter relays. The girls team finished ninth in 9:32.05, while the boys squad placed 10th in 8:00.58.
Najir Eddins represented the Bulldogs in the boys 110-meter hurdles, finishing 17th with a time of 15.09 seconds.
With two state championships, multiple podium finishes, and a dramatic ending under the lights at Hodges Stadium, the Bulldogs closed the 2026 season with one of the strongest performances in program history.
