Bulldog Boys Wrestling Captures District 2-3A Championship
February 19th, 2026 | GAINESVILLE, FL –Bulldog Wrestling turned in a commanding performance on Thursday claiming the District 2-3A Championship in impressive fashion at the tournament held in Gainesville. The Bulldogs amassed 254.5 team points, showcasing their depth and consistency across the lineup, with seven Bulldogs earning individual district titles to lead the charge.

At 106 pounds, Jacob Hald set the tone with a 15-5 major decision over Cody Rich of Buchholz High School in the championship match. Branden Dailey followed with a dominant 17-0 technical major decision over Jonathan Bastian of DeLand High School at 113 pounds. At 120 pounds, Kevin McLean captured gold with a tough 3-0 victory over Kaiden Olavarria of DeLand. Trey Twilley added another title at 132 pounds, securing a pin in the finals against Nate Walck of Lake Mary High School. At 138 pounds, Lenny Fries earned a fall in the second period, pinning Matthew Pishotta of West Port High School. Gabe Moy captured the 144-pound championship with a strong 6-2 decision over Anthony Lyle of Seminole High School. Closing out the champions, JoJo Foalima secured the 165-pound title with a commanding 12-0 victory over Liam Kealey of Buchholz.
The Bulldogs’ dominance extended throughout the lineup, as all 13 wrestlers finished in the top four and advanced to the next stage of the postseason. Additional qualifiers included Buster Bossardet (4th at 126), Mike Fries (2nd at 150), Ronden Ricks (2nd at 157), Doyvonne Leadon (3rd at 175), Brandon Veal (3rd at 215), and Aiden Korth (3rd at 285).
With the district title secured and every wrestler advancing, the Bulldogs now shift their focus to the Region I-3A Tournament, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, February 27–28 at Deland High School.
