• Scott Drabczyk

    Director of Athletics

Scott Drabczyk ’01  proudly serves as the Director of Athletics at Flagler Palm Coast High School, bringing nearly two decades of experience in athletic administration, educational leadership, and student-athlete development.  A Palm Coast native and 2001 graduate of FPC, Drabczyk returned to his alma mater in 2023 to lead the very program where his own journey as a student-athlete first began.

Since assuming the role at FPC, Drabczyk has focused on enhancing all facets of the school’s athletic program—expanding student opportunities, supporting coach development, improving facilities, and fostering a strong sense of school spirit and Bulldog pride. His leadership has been guided by a belief that sports are a powerful vehicle for education, character development, and community engagement.

Before rejoining FPC, Drabczyk served as the founding Athletic Director at Horizon High School in Winter Garden, Florida. In this role, he was tasked with building an entire athletic program from the ground up at a brand-new public high school. He launched 34 varsity sports programs, helped design and implement the school’s branding and identity, and coordinated the procurement and installation of over $6 million in equipment and furnishings. His ability to lead large-scale project planning while maintaining a student-centered approach made Horizon one of the most well-organized and competitive new athletic programs in the region from day one.

Prior to Horizon, Drabczyk served as Assistant Principal for Athletics, Facilities, and Student Services at Father Lopez Catholic High School in Daytona Beach from 2014-2021. During his tenure, he directed the historically successful Green Wave Athletic Department in addition to supervising multiple academic departments, oversight of campus facilities and grounds, and coordinated student services. He also led the school’s COVID-19 Return-to-Play Task Force and was instrumental in keeping student-athletes engaged and safe during a time of national uncertainty.  He oversaw the schools major capital campaign and facility expansion of a 1.5 million dollar new baseball, softball, and tennis complex on campus in 2016.

Drabczyk began his career as the Athletic Director at Ocoee High School (2010-2014), and the Assistant Athletic Director, Head Golf Coach, and Assistant Baseball Coach at Dr. Phillips High School (2006-2010).  He holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Stetson University and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Bethune-Cookman College, where he was a two-time All-MEAC Academic Team selection as a member of the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf team.

Nationally recognized for his leadership in interscholastic athletics, Drabczyk is a Certified Master Athletic Administrator (CMAA) through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA). He has served in numerous leadership roles with both the NIAAA and the Florida Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (FIAAA), including:

  • FIAAA Board of Directors member (2011-Present)

  • President of the FIAAA (2017–2018)

  • Chair of the NIAAA and FIAAAHall of Fame Committees

  • National Teaching Faculty for NIAAA Leadership Training Courses 501 & 504

  • State Certification Coordinator for Florida Athletic Directors

  • Eleven time presenter at both the National Athletic Directors Conference and Florida State AD Convention.

His work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the FIAAA Wayne Taylor Meritorious Service Award (2023), the NIAAA Distinguished Service Award (2021), and the FIAAA State Award of Merit (2015). He is widely respected for his ability to blend strategic vision with operational excellence, his commitment to professional development, and his passion for supporting both student-athletes and the coaches who serve them.
