Bulldogs Top Christ’s Church Academy 7–2 Behind Flis’ Perfect Night at the Plate
March 9th, 2026 | PALM COAST, FL – – The Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs picked up a strong home victory Monday evening, defeating Christ’s Church Academy 7–2 at Bulldog Park. Senior Carson Flis turned in a perfect night at the plate, going 4-for-4 and powering the Bulldogs’ offense. Flis doubled in the first inning to help get FPC on the board, then launched a two-run home run to left field in the second inning. He added singles in the fourth and sixth innings to cap an outstanding performance.
The Bulldogs jumped out early, scoring twice in the bottom of the first inning after Flis’ double down the right field line and a Christ’s Church Academy error. FPC extended the lead in the second inning when Marion Clayton delivered an RBI single before Flis’ two-run homer pushed the advantage to 5–0.
On the mound, Reginald Bass Jr. delivered a dominant start, striking out 10 batters over five innings. Bass allowed just three hits and two runs while working through four walks to keep the Eagles’ offense in check. Kameron Roberts provided strong relief for the Bulldogs, tossing two scoreless innings while striking out four and allowing no hits. Flagler Palm Coast finished with 11 hits on the night. Flis and Clayton were a major spark in the lineup, combining for eight hits while hitting back-to-back in the order. Parker Swartz also contributed offensively, going 2-for-3 and driving in a run.
The Bulldogs were aggressive on the basepaths, swiping seven stolen bases in the game. Nole Hemmerle and Clayton each recorded multiple steals, while Swartz added two of his own. Defensively, FPC was flawless, committing no errors. Clayton Lamb anchored the defense with a game-high 12 plays.
Christ’s Church Academy starting pitcher Jackson Vennard allowed six runs (four earned) on eight hits over 5.1 innings while striking out four. The Bulldogs will look to carry the momentum on the road when they travel to face Deltona on Wednesday.
