Bulldogs Edge Matanzas in Thrilling Rivalry Win
December 12th, 2025 | PALM COAST, FL – In a game that lived up to the intensity of Flagler County’s biggest rivalries, the FPC boys basketball team pulled out a dramatic 60–58 road victory over Matanzas on Friday night.
With the score tied in the final seconds, sophomore Nate Perry delivered the decisive moment. Perry spinned off a defender and calmly knocked down the game-winning basket with four seconds remaining, silencing the Matanzas crowd and securing a hard-fought win for the Bulldogs.
Senior guard Nateshawn Royal paced FPC offensively, pouring in a game-high 24 points and eight rebounds. Royal set the tone from the opening tip, attacking the basket and providing steady leadership throughout the night.
Perry finished with 15 points to go along with his clutch game winner, while Anthony Hampton added 12 points, giving the Bulldogs three players in double figures.
The contest was tight from start to finish, with both teams trading leads and neither able to pull away. FPC’s composure down the stretch proved to be the difference, as the Bulldogs executed in the final moments to escape with the two-point win.
The victory marks a statement road win for FPC and adds the fourth win in the last six games for the Bulldogs. FPC will be back on the road on Tuesday as they travel to take on University Orange City at 6:00 & 7:30pm.
