Bulldogs Finish as Region 2-3A Runner-Up
April 25th, 2026 | PALM COAST, FL –Flagler Palm Coast High School proudly hosted the Region 2-3A Boys Weightlifting Championship on Saturday, April 25, welcoming 139 lifters from 11 teams in a highly competitive meet that showcased the strength and depth of the area’s top programs.
The Bulldogs delivered an outstanding performance in front of their home crowd, finishing as the Region 2-3A Runner-Up in both the Olympic and Traditional divisions. FPC recorded an impressive 79.5% success rate in Olympic lifts and 75.8% in Traditional, demonstrating consistency and execution across all weight classes.
Spruce Creek captured the team titles in both divisions, but Flagler Palm Coast firmly established itself as one of the top programs in the region with a strong all-around showing.
Olympic Division Highlights
FPC totaled 57 team points to secure second place, powered by multiple podium finishes and a pair of individual champions.
Leading the way was Cody Strawser (129 lb.), who dominated his class with a combined 455 total (195 Snatch / 260 Clean & Jerk) to claim the regional title.
In the heavyweight division, Matthew McFall (Unl.) delivered another championship performance, totaling 625 lbs. (275 Snatch / 350 Clean & Jerk) to secure gold.
The Bulldogs added several key runner-up and top-three finishes:
- Landon Gates (183) – 1st place, 510 total
- Alex Huynh (139) – 2nd place, 430 total
- Jackson Fedun (169) – 2nd place, 515 total
- Tyler Davidson (219) – 2nd place, 435 total
- Joseph Casanova (238) – 4th place, 535 total
- Mathias Parker (199) – 3rd place, 480 total
- Marlon Alvarado (183) – 3rd place, 480 total
Additional scoring contributions came from Anthony Giacobbe (119), Chris Lightsey (154), Aidan Bull (154), and Wendell Weaver (Unlimited), helping the Bulldogs compile one of the highest team success percentages of the meet.
Traditional Division Recap
In the Traditional competition, Flagler Palm Coast earned 39 points, again finishing second overall. The Bulldogs relied on depth and consistency across the lineup to separate themselves from the rest of the field.
